CTC 462 Lab2 (Orifices/Weirs-Spreadsheets)

1. Develop a spreadsheet to find Q for a square-edged orifice. The user must be able to input opening diameter, water surface elevation, and center of orifice elevation.
2. Solve problem 9 in chapter 2 by using the template you developed in 1. Determine the value of Q by varying the orifice diameter from 6" to 36" in 6" increments and graph your results.
3. Develop 3 separate spreadsheets to find Q for a v-notch weir, a sharp crested weir, and a broad-crested weir.
4. Solve problems 12, 14, and 15 using the templates you developed in 3.
5. Turn in your spreadsheets on disk along with your report.
