Student Examples of Rendered Images (Fall 2021)

For my final project I chose to draw the London Tower Bridge. I found some examples of the bridge online in an isometric view so I was able to copy that and then add some of my own touches like

color and details in the windows. Building the actual towers were difficult because there was a lot of little .

First off, I want to Thank you for your time this semester. I learned so much about this course and accomplished many things I didn’t think I would be able to do. I also appreciate how

you would take time to come over and show me how to do something or help me have a better understanding! For my final project I choose to construct 2 Farm silos. I did this because I grew

up on a farm and silos were always our biggest issue. The silos would always clog up and they were always needed to be fixed. The silos I constructed in this project is a fairly new design

farmers are using. In this project I have two 30,000-bushel silos connected to CO2 tanks. This design has been saving farmer’s time and money witch results in better production. When the

silos clog up there is an automatic relay switch that triggers the CO2 containers to blow pressure into the silo to free up the corn. These co2 containers are sitting on 5 yards of concert with

structural steel holding them up in the air. While doing this project I ran in to challenges. I had to learn to add colors use slab and cylinder shapes and use 3D cad format. This was a

challenging project that I am proud to say I have done. I had many topics in mind when deciding what to do for a final project. I came to the conclusion that I wanted to do something realistic

that can have potential to be used at my family farm. I believe that all the cad drawings that I have done this semester has giving me a better understanding on scales, angles, and has

opened my mind to more creative structures. The hands-on aspect of this class has made me more confident as a future engineer. Once again thank you for a great first semester.

For my final exam project, I decided to do a 3D model apartment home. I started quite late on my project but while doing this project I learned a lot of new tools and different ways to use those tools to

make realistic structures. I spent a lot of my time doing my project in the drawing workflow not knowing I was supposed to be using modeling. It only took me a short time to go through and fix what I did. I stared

with the front of the building by making a box and adding the windows and doors. Then I made my way up to the second level and after I did that, I just copied 3 levels up. And I did the same process for the sides of the building. I’d say the hardest part on my project was making the fire escape structure on the front of the building. Also trying to make the drawing look like my reference with no dimensions. I did not mess

around too much with the lighting and making it look too realistic. It was a simple drawing, and I used a lot of slabs and cylinders. I would have loved to submit my final project with transparent glass and a brick

material for the walls after seeing some of the submissions from previous years, but I didn’t use my time wisely.

I decided to construct a bridge for my final exam. I chose to create a bridge because I thought it would challenge me.. During the time I was drawing and constructing it, I made several mistakes, but I was able to achieve the look I want. The easiest part was placing the light poles on the road since I was able to simply copy the light poles and set them where I wanted them, and after it looked good, I was satisfied with how it appeared. The large pole was the portion of the task that I battled with the most because when I tried to draw it, it came out either too big or too little. Also, creating a great design for the poles was a pain; it took me a long time, and I ended up switching at the last minute to a design I liked better, which turned out to be rather nice.  Additionally, I used the modify solids key to create the holding for the bridge.
