CTC 212 - Lecture 8 (Element Groups)

Element Selection

Invoking

HOME- Allows you to select element first, and then manipulate it. Puts square handles on the elements that are selected

Select Single Element

Click element using data button

Add Single Element

Control/Data Button to add an element

Select Element Groups

Hold down the data button and drag a rectangle around the group

Add Element Groups

Control/Data button and drag a rectangle around group to be added

Select All/None Elements

 

Deselect Element

Control/Data Button to deselect one element

Deselect Group

Control/Data Button and drag a rectangle around group to be deselected

Locking/Ulocking

   (locks/unlocks elements from being manipulated)

 

Manipulating Selected Elements

Moving

Drag outline (not the handle)

Changing Element Shape

Drag the handle

Deleting

Use delete on main tool bar or delete on keyboard

Manipulating

Can use regular commands such as array, copy, delete, mirror, move, rotate, scale, and change element attributes (Note: read prompts)

Place and Modify Fence

Manipulate, Delete and Drop Complex Status of Fence Contents

Manipulate Fence Contents

Copy, move, rotate, scale, mirror, stretch

Delete Fence Contents

Inside the fence, inside & overlapping the fence, inside and clipping at the fence border, outside (void) the fence, outside & overlapping the fence, outside and clipping at the fence border

Drop Complex Status of Fence Contents

Polygons into lines, dimensions into separate elements that can be edited
