INROADS - Generating Cross Sections

Step 1: Start Inroads and Load all files

Use xxwork.dgn as a working file.

File, Open, Terrain model (*.dtm)

File, Open, Alignment (*.alg) - Loads alignment file (horiz/vertical alignment info)

File, Open, Typical Section Library (*.itl)

Step 2: Create roadway library

File, New, Roadway Library (sjb.rwl)

Create one entry with the proposed template at the beginning station

Step 3: Model the roadway

Modeler, Roadway Modeler

Step 4: Plot cross sections

Evaluate, Cross Sections, Create Cross Sections

Optional:

Edit existing (green, linestyle 0, weight =1)

Edit proposed (red, linestyle 0, weight=2)

Main Tab: Change interval lt and rt to -15, +15

Control Tab: Change station exaggeration to 1

Plot x-sections (using fence) on HP5P at 1"=15'
