with respect to Water and Wastewater Systems)-Individual:
Read the three articles on sustainability located on Blackboard.
1-Written Report: Search the internet to find five (5) sustainable design techniques in the following areas and summarize the techniques in a written format. Include at least one picture and one table in your report.
1. Drop off
a written report for part a) which is 5 pages minimum
(excluding pictures/graphs). Be sure and
list your references (minimum of 5 references in MLA or APA format).
2-Powerpoint Presentation: Find a LEED project which incorporated sustainable design techniques with respect to water &/or wastewater systems. Summarize the project and the sustainable design techniques used.
2. Prepare a powerpoint presentation and give a 10-minute oral
presentation on part b). List your
reference (or references).
Project 2: Reading
Contract Plans (Team/Class)
Take the contract plans and develop a detailed set of multiple choice questions and answers---- (30).
Prepare exam & key (50 points)
Fully participate in taking the exam (45 points)
Prepare an exam so that other team makes a 70-80 score (5 points)
For Projects 3 through 5 include:
· Title Page (Include title, name(s), date due, class number, total manhours worked on project)
· Index Page (remember to include page numbers)
· Problem Statements
· Diagram of pipe system (capture images and paste versus scans)
· Summary of Results (in your own words and with appropriate technical depth)
· Answers to Questions (in your own words and with appropriate technical depth)
· Written summary of any difficulties/confusion when working the problems
· External references and other resources
· Place electronic summary in Angel Dropoff Folder (.pdf format)
Project 3: Flowmaster

Project 4: WaterGEMS or WaterCAD (Individual—work one problem or team (2
people)—work both problems)
· Chapter 6: problem 1 (ductile iron pipe network)
· Chapter 6: problem 5 (golf sprinkler system)
Project 5: SewerGEMS or SewerCAD (Individual—work one problem, or team (2
people)—work both problems)
· Chapter 7: problem 1 (sewer system serving resort apartment, bar and cafeteria)
· Chaper 7: problem 3 (sewer system of force mains)
