PERIWINKLE NATIONAL THEATER FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES

Periwinkle is a not-for-profit professional, innovative, award-winning touring theater for young audiences. Founded in 1963 by artist/educator Sunna Rasch, Periwinkle is one of the oldest on-going theaters for young audiences in the US.

Programming is a unique blend of preliminary materials, original productions, and workshops--all designed to challenge students intellectually, imaginatively, and artistically.

Performances take place in schools, theaters, parks, civic centers, libraries, and museums...The versatility of Periwinkle's plays allows the players to transform any area into a theatrical arena.
Over 700,000 youth throughout the country have attended performances of HALFWAY THERE, a powerful drama for drug abuse prevention.

A new show for elementary audiences, ROOFTOP,A Play About Bullies, is part of the national Stop The Violence Effort. Conflict Resolution and Creative Drama workshops, study guides and preparation sessions are available to supplement performances
