Graphic Design

Below is a compilation of some of my most prominent Graphic Design works (including thumbnail design for YouTube):

Hocus Pocus Poster: This project was a redesigned poster of any movie from before we were born. In this case, I chose the movie Hocus Pocus, which was released in 1993. For this poster we had to create a more modernized approach at what a poster would look like nowadays, so I focused on the classic “hovering bodies” sort of look you see in most films nowadays such as Marvel movies, or other action films. Hocus Pocus centered in the forefront and middle of the poster I felt was a necessity, while I have the main villains (the most important of the film) shining in the background with the other main characters (the protagonists) in the front bottom right. I also made sure to put the most prominent names from the film on the top of the poster as most other posters do.
Neville Brody Design Recreation: This project was crafted from the research of a graphic designer of our choice. In this instance, I chose to research Neville Brody. I crafted this project in the same design styles that Neville Brody would, thinking outside the box and not necessarily following the direct guidelines of design. I also used his official Coca-Cola poster as reference for my version here.
Minnesota Leopards Branding Logo: This project was created for an advanced graphic design course. The theme was to create a sports team for any state college and try to craft a logo for said sports team. I created the Minnesota Leopards and designed this logo after that made-up team. The goal was to have it be themed after a snow leopard as I imagined this to be a college hockey team. The typography for Minnesota Leopards shows that by having the icicles hanging down from the lettering.
Guns N’ Roses Cover Design: This project was another given out for the advanced graphic design course that I took. In this case, we had to take a favorite album or CD from any music artist and recreate a cover, backing and spine for a CD cover. This is my cover for the “Appetite for Destruction” CD album by Guns N’ Roses. With the name “Appetite for Destruction”, I wanted to reflect that in the piece by showing a world on fire in the background. Not to mention, Guns N’ Roses is most well-known for their member, Slash. I felt it was necessary to include Slash in the artwork, so I chose to design a skeleton head resembling Slash, again set in this “world on fire” notion.
Pop-Tarts Redesigned Packaging: This project was given out in an advanced graphic design course, focused on taking existing advertising or packaging and creating a new (more consumer-friendly or focused design). In this case, the design I chose was a Pop-Tart box that a person can look inside of and see what it is they are purchasing. With the small film on the front to see inside, and the large wording on the forefront about what they are looking at and/or buying - I felt this was much more necessary for consumers as it grants them the ability to feel reassured that they’re getting what they purchase.
StrawDesertHD Branding Logo: This Logo was designed for the YouTube channel under my own brand/alias "StrawDesertHD". This brand is themed after the same ideology I've gone with my whole life. We all may hide behind masks, but our true nature lies within. In my case, I like to showcase this as the obstacles we face being what's underneath - whereas the mask is how we try to act like we're pushing through just fine. The dark behind the light - yet still successful nonetheless.
Drawing Pokemon From Memory Thumbnail: This thumbnail was designed as a test for a style of thumbnail that I had never done before. My entire YouTube channel is based off of gaming/guides and other forms of entertainment. In this case, I wanted to heighten that entertainment factor by working further and harder on a thumbnail that represents that new and exciting content. In this case, I drew what a classic YouTube thumbnail would look like for larger channels instead of including my actual face.
New Year, New Game - February: This thumbnail is one of many that I crafted for a YouTube series I followed from 2021-2022 where I would tackle two different games every month for YouTube content. Fortnite Seasonal Promotional Images: Every season for Fortnite: Battle Royale (a free online game that exists made by Epic Games) I create a fan-made image to promote the new season battle passes. I've done this for the last few years and will continue to keep promoting it through these means. This is the most recent one that I've made for the recent season in Chapter 5.
