1. Article Review
The project goal was to review an article from a scientific journal in the area of technology in American history. I chose an article from the journal Technology and Culture named “Icarus 2.0: A Historian’s Perspective on Human Biological Enhancement”, by Michael D. Bess. The article talks about the effects of future technological watersheds, such as, biological enhancements on the human body, and the resulting impacts on society and culture.

2. Script & Dialoge The project goal was to produce a machinima short film by re-purposing art assets and content that was originally created for the video game “Team Fortress 2.” The machinima titled “Pyro’s Birthday”, is a comedy of errors and/or a series of unfortunate events that incorporates character back stories and motifs established in the original game cannon. The projects team consisted of two members. My responsibilities included script & dialogue writing, animating and filming four scenes, editing the final deliverable, and writing the project proposal.

3. Instruction Manual
The project consisted of two parts. First, my team was tasked with creating an object out of “Tinker Toys” (plastic construction set), without using images. My team constructed a replica “Halo 2 Battle Rifle”, from the video game, “Halo 2.” The second part was to write a step-by-step instruction manual on assembling the object. The team consisted of three members, each member being responsible for part of the assembly. My responsibilities included writing the assembly instructions for the “base” or handle and the instructions for assembling all of the sections into one object.

4. Infographic Final Documentation
The project goal was to create an information graphic that visualized qualitative and/or quantitative data. The infographic “Relationship between News Source & Civic Engagement”, uses data from a report on emerging online experiences, reveals patterns from within the data, and facilitates the learning and understanding of the topic. Responsibilities included data analysis, data visualization, and graphic design. The infographic incorporates the design principles Entry Point, Color Theory, Comparison, and Mnemonic Device.
