Recommended Pre-requisites
Students planning to enroll in Collision Repair Technology should have taken ninth grade academic-level industrial arts courses. Students should possess strong math and reading and writing skills as well.

Classroom Activities
Classroom instruction is provided on a daily basis. The first 30 to 45 minutes of each day is spent in the classroom where students are required to take notes, complete written assignments associated to activities and procedures that take place out in the lab.

Course Content
Collision Repair I provides students with an introduction into the Collision repair field. Students are trained in vehicle construction and vocabulary used in industry. Students are introduced to the materials and equipment used in Collision Repair. There are a variety of classroom and lab activities that provide a foundation for students to be successful in this field. There are model and live work activities going on throughout the year. All aspects of safety are covered and safety glasses are worn in the lab at all times.

Collision Repair II allows students to refine their skills. A second year student has the opportunity to work on more complex jobs such as frame repair and custom painting. Students use more advanced techniques and should be able to perform tasks in a shorter period of time. A second year student may be given the opportunity to work on a personal project if that project meets specific guidelines.
